Cathwa Nation/En route to Tonoyana

Bernardt sat on a camel looking like he was seconds from falling off the creature. The heat wasn't something he was used to. Despite the fact that he had visited the Cathwa nation many times before, he could never get used to the heat. Coupled with the fact that he was wearing armour he was suffering in the heat. But he knew what was waiting for him. He had been saving up for this trip for years now ever since he first heard of the stuff, now he finally got the chance. He also brought a little extra gold to get something for Nea that would finally allow him to ask the question he had been itching to ask for a good long while now.

The locals helped him with a turban or something like that to keep the sun off his face. He was thankful for it. This sun would seer flesh if a person wasn't careful. With another heavy sigh he picked up his waterskin and took a long swig of the cool water. Already he felt a bit better. How anyone can live in this wasteland was beyond him.

He looked down at his gear. His bolter was tied to the side of the camel along with his sword. He was told the route could get dangerous with either bandits or animals, so it would be better to keep the weapons close. He turned to look behind him. The caravan wasn't too big, but it wasn't small. Probably just over 20 camels and a couple wagons. He was more to the front of the caravan.

What was interesting was the fact that he wasn't the only outlander in the caravan...

The air shimmered on the next dune in front of the small caravan before the air seemed to split in two as a tear formed, fire spilling out into the desert air.

Silas Hael was thrown out of that portal. He tried landing on his feet but the sand didn't give him good footing and fell backwards before tumbling down the dune. Of the magic he had learned in the mysts, this had been one he was not gifted in at all. How long had he been gone? Months? A year? It had been hard to tell in that place. There was no sun that rotated, only the constant blaze of fire.

Ilirdrel had told him that time flowed differently there, when he arrived back only a matter of days would have passed. What he couldn't control was where he was being sent to. He wanted to return home, finish his battle with House Varn and bring stability to Noria once again. There was no doubt that he was thought dead, and when word of that reached Noria, which it likely already had, Varn wouldn't take long to act.

Silas finally came to rest, the hot desert air feeling cold to him after spending the last year in the city of fire. He sat up with a bit of a groan. That had not been enjoyable, he could still feel his stomach reeling from the magic.

He looked up to see the caravan approaching him, holding up a hand to shield his eyes from the Sun. He pushed himself to his feet. He wore practical clothes, long having discarded the fancy ball attire he had arrived in the Mysts in. He carried his sword on his hip, hand resting on its pommel as he composed himself.

Bernardt noticed the heat waves from one of the dunes was acting strange. Like in a way he never saw before. He squinted as he watched the dune. Suddenly the waves turned into flames and a man was hurled out of it. Bernardt blinked, watching as the man rolled off the dune he got off his camel and took his bolter in his arms.

He walked over to where the man was getting back up and dusting himself off, holding his bolter close but keeping it down. The man looked like he had been to hell and back, but he didn't seem phased at all over the whole situation. He was clearly a magi, and with how he stood perhaps even a nobleman.

"Well met, friend." Bernardt said loud enough for the man to hear him. The caravan had long came to a halt, everyone watching Bernardt and the stranger. "Do you have a name?" he asked him.
