Lilith fluttered her lashes as she spun around in a dress that didn't quite have the look she wanted. And it was important that it had the look, since she was throwing the party she needed to look her best. Part of her knew she'd enjoy the drinks, the banter and the whispers that her guests would provide her and her servants. The other part, however, wanted to simply stay in bed and read a book. She ignored the latter, knowing she had to keep appearances up for the family... and up to date on the rumors. Not doing so put her at risk, more than anything.
Her mask matched the color of the dress, but the dress was just too plain and so she had sent for a tailor. At first she was going to send for her regular one—known as the best in the city—but one of her servants mentioned a new one that seemed talented. Lilith thought on it for awhile and decided a fresh eye might be best for the ball, and so she'd sent for him instead; plus she could invite him to attend to show him off to the others.
"He's on his way, my lady," one of her female servants spoke. Lilith turned away from the mirror, smiling and answering with a "thank you" to her servant before shifting back. "Go get something to eat, my dear, you've been fretting over this ball all day." The servant was about to speak again but Lilith interrupted her after noticing it in the mirror, "No talking back, just go."
