Cathwa Nation/Setasut
Early afternoon

Madena was splayed out on a wall near the docks, staring blankly at a n old man as he shouted at her in a foreign language. Normally she would be freaking out or threatening the man if not turning him to stone, but ever since she got off that ship and felt this sun she couldn't get enough of it. She used her backpack as a pillow and made sure her hood was up to conceal her 'hair' but pretty much everything else was visible and already some people were staring at she scaly woman. Not that she cared, this sun was simply too fantastic to have her worry about anything.

After lying there for an hour the man gave up and walked away. She figured he gave up and she laid her head back down to bake further in the sun like a lazy lizard. However her nap was rudely interrupted once more when she heard the old man return...and this time with company...

6 soldiers, most likely city watch, followed him. He pointed at her while shouting something and the soldier s approached with their hands on their oddly curved swords. It was the first time she had seen swords like that. She wanted to ask about the swords, but quickly her instincts kicked in and told her that she needed to get out of here.

They reached her just as she got up and strapped her backpack to her back. Two of them grabbed her by her shoulders and started to push her to one side. They were simply removing what seemed to be a beggar or working girl on public docks and moving her out of the area, but to her it was as if they were leading her away to be executed. She fought back and struggled in their grip, screaming at them to let her got but they didn't seem to understand her...or they chose not to in her mind.

Doing what she only thought was right her legs morphed into a large snake tail and with one powerful swing all 6 soldiers flew through the air into a couple of fish traps nearby. She gave a violent hiss before bolting down the road. She didn't know where she was, but she found herself in an alley. She morphed her legs back and looked around, trying to figure out where to go...

Akasha was pissed, to put it mildly. The goods she had needed for glass production hadn't arrived, but worse than that she had only received half the shipment and been accused of lying about the fate of her ordered goods.

So, here she was, with papers in hand at the docks giving the shipment manager a what for. "The charter said you were to give me two tins of blue paint and one pound worth of jewels." Akasha stated, holding the signed shipment papers in her hand. "But for some reason, I'm at half a pound of jewels, and only one tin of blue paint, but that's only because I misplaced it? Is that what you are trying to tell me?" She pressed, slamming the papers down and leaning across the desk at the shipment manager. The man looked up at her with a bored expression, he didn't care, and they both knew it. "Ma'am, I can't control what comes in or out of the port. I only know what they have on the charter. If the man you ordered from lied to you, that's on you. I can't do a damn thing about it." He said, unable to conjure up a more exacerbated tone. Though it did little to calm her anger. "Well it's going to be your damn problem if this doesn't get fixed." Akasha stated coldly, her body starting to give off more heat as her temper only worsened, sliding the papers forward, hopefully the man got the point. "I see..." The shipment manager muttered, taking the papers and setting them to the side. He eyed Akasha awkwardly, perhaps feeling the heat she was giving off. "I'll...see what I can do...."

That would have to be good enough for now. "Thank you." Akasha said, the anger still evident in her eyes as she turned and walked away. There was some commotion by the docks, but Akasha didn't pay it much mind, until she caught some guards being shoved into the water. Now that wasn't so usual. She caught sight of whatever had sent the men into the water, as it raced past her and up an alley a little bit aways from her. At first she thought she was imagining it, as the a half snake half woman figure slithered past her. Now her curiosity was peaked. So, with reckless abandon now upon her, she followed the mysterious woman. Sure enough, her eyes didn't betray her, as a half snake woman indeed was before her, though she looked rather distraught at the moment; nearly being arrested would do that to someone. Still, she seemed in need, and so slipping unto the alley Akasha would approach the woman cautiously; she knew just how bad the guards treated those who were different from the norm, best she could do was help her own kind. "Hello?" She spoke, keeping her hands low as to not startle the woman. "Are you in need of help?" Given that the guards would be looking for a half serpentine woman, Akasha could only assume that would be a yes.

Madena was still looking around in her bewildered state, she didn't even register the woman suddenly appearing in the alley with her. The woman spoke up and Madena spun around, drawing her gladius and holding it out towards her. "You stay back, don't come near me!" she warned the woman, backing up away from her. The dead end behind her soon hit her back and she quickly took a look before locking onto the woman once more.

Deciding to be more intimidating as to not simply resort to killing the woman, Madena's legs morphed into a tail once more and she rose a few meters off the ground to look down at the woman. "You try to hurt me and I'll end you!" she hissed at the woman, but behind that anger was nothing but fear. Kharia helped her get a feel for cities, but that incident with the guards shook her completely.

It was to be expected that the woman would start off being aggressive, so when weapons were drawn and threats levied against her, Akasha didn't take it personally; she knew all too well what it was like hiding away from the guards. Akasha kept her hands up and in view of the woman, trying to ensure she wouldn't let the stranger get the wrong idea. Given that the woman had drawn a weapon and turned her lower half into that of a snake, it seemed it was a little late for that.

"I have no intention of hurting you." She spoke calmly, deciding to stay where she was rather than more closer; she was fire proof, not sword proof after all. But they couldn't just stand here until the guards showed up, because they were going to be coming once they pulled themselves out of the water. Still, the woman in front of her was acting out of fear, a d while that was a decent motivational factor, it wasn't going to help them right here and now. "I'm just wanting to let you know the guards will be suching all over the docks looking for you." Taking a few steps back and putting her arms down by her side, Akasha shrugged. "It's up to you, but you can come with me or take your chances with the guards. But unless you have a spare change of clothes with you, I don't think it'll work out for you." With her offer set, Akasha stood there, arms crossed, at the edge of the alley.

The woman maintained her distance and kept telling Madena that she didn't want to hurt her. Madena's face morphed as she hissed, but the woman stood firm, seemingly without a lick of fear. She offered to help Madena evade the guards...and her paranoia was screaming "trap", but she didn't seem to be lying.

Her face morphed back to normal and she lowered herself back down to the ground. The anger started to crack and the fear was starting to show. The woman crossed her arms and watched Madena who was struggling to make a decision. She decided on a judgement call and sheathed her sword. Her tail shrunk and formed back into legs and Madena approached the woman. "Alright. I trust you. Lead the way." she said and looked the woman in the eye.

The sound of shouting made the Serpent tense up and look out into the street. The fear was starting to show clearly on her face and she looked back to the girl. She could fight the guards, most likely win as well, but that would only attract more guards. And there was no way she could take on an entire army.

There was a brief moment of tension as the serpentine woman seemed ready to lash out, but Alasha bet that the woman wasn't foolish enough to start a fight knowing the guards would be upon them soon. She was soon proved correct in this assumption, as the woman dismissed her serpents tail and sheathed the sword. Now there were finally getting somewhere. "Well now that that's settled, my name is Akasha and if you don't want to end up in prison then you'll need to do what I say."
Akasha removed her aqua colored robes, revealing the undergarments she frequently wore while working. The exposure did Akasha no shame, what did she have to be ashamed about, if anything it was helping a fellow vagrant out; assuming that was this woman's situation. Akasha handed her robe to the Madena, and motioned her to move closer. "Put that robe on, and follow my lead." Akasha spoke with an air of authority, as she took Madena by the arm and lead her out into the street. The sensation of scales against her skin reminded her of her first encounter with Iskar, but this woman was different somehow. Still, the cold sleekness of the scales was soon forgotten as they began to move. "Put your arm around me. Act as if I'm your consort." Akasha knew the guards of this city too well, and there was no way in hell they'd give the likes of a prostitute and her charge the time of day; that traffic was far too common, especially around the docks. Akasha leaned onto woman, feeling a tad odd to see someone else wearing her clothes, but this was just a temporary thing. Akasha only hoped her unnatural warmth didn't cause the woman to become concerned that trickery was afoot, but that was just something she would have to deal with for the time being. Stepping out of the alley, Akasha motioned her 'friend' up the street, still keeping close to her as more of the city guard began to stream out of the docks. There was only a half dozen for the time being, but Akasha knew all too well that more would soon be arising; until they lost interest and their egos stopped being bruised. Hearing the sergeant begin shouting for them to spread themselves out and search, Akasha would lead the woman down a pair of back alleys. Thankfully she still recalled the paths she and her brother frequented in their youth, knowing the would be safe from the eyes of the city guards until they were well outside of the danger of being discovered. Feeling the coast was now clear, Akasha brought the pair to a halt just down the ways from where her glass shop was located. Finally letting go of the stranger, Akasha stepped forward and looked to the stranger. "I think you'll be safe for the time being, do you have anywhere to stay for the time being?" She asked, crossing her arms as she awaited her clothes to be given back to her.

The girl introduced herself quickly and then...proceeded to strip? Madena stared on as she slipped out of her dress and passed it to Madena who had a fierce blush on her face. She tried to say something but words failed her. Instead she simply stripped out of her simply clothing as well and slipped into Akasha's dress. It was a bit tight but it would do. With her cloak to cover her head again she was ready.

Akasha pulled Madena by her wrist and quickly slid up against her, telling her to put her arm around her. With a gulp and even pinker blush through the scales of her cheeks she did as she was told and stiffly put an arm around Akasha's body. What caught her off guard was the warmth. She was a lot warmer than any normal human...it was amazing. Even in this desert she still couldn't get enough of the warmth and quickly, as well as subconsciously, she eased into the embrace and became a lot more comfortable...and convincing.

They walked through the streets and sure enough no one batted an eye. Sure the people stared, but no one stopped them to look at them. Finally Akasha led them down a series of alleys and lost the guards. She faced Madena fully and asked if she had somewhere to stay. Madena was still blushing but it was finally fading. "N-no...I just got here..." she finally stammered. She looked around then back to Akasha who seemed to want her clothing back. "Oh! Sorry...one moment." she said with a sheepish chuckle and slipped out of the dress. She handed it back to Akasha and slipped back into her simple old clothes that sat a lot more freely.

Seeing the stranger was rather shy to the closeness of which Akasha had been with her brought a small smirk to Akasha's face. Still, she seemed to take to Akasha's touch, as she felt the woman become more...attached to her as they had undergone their little adventure. It was rather endearing seeing such a reaction. Still, she frowned a tad as the woman mentioned she had no where to go, having only arrived, thinking to herself as Madena removed the robe from her person. "You only arrived here? Is there anywhere in particular you are heading to?" Akasha asked, slipping her arms back into the sleeves and tying the small cloth belt around her waist.

Through the whole redressing, she did not move her eyes off her new 'friend'; Akasha was enjoying this a little too much perhaps. Akasha's expression made it clear that she was in a deep level of thought, as the woman before her probably wouldn't last very long in the streets of Setasut; especially if the guards happened upon her again. Then again, she could always use help in the shop. Not to mention she was curious who this woman was; and just a small part of her was curious if there was any magic she might gleam from the woman.

Coming out of her trance of thought, Akasha glanced down to her shop, then back to Madena. "Pardon me, but I don't believe I caught your name." She stated, crossing her arms behind her back and mulling over what she would say next. "And it sounds like you don't really have a plan going forward, nor anywhere to go...." Akasha paused and blinked several times, she rubbed her chin as the pieces began clicking into place for her. "So, if you want, I can let you stay in my shop for the time being," Akasha said, dropping her arms by her side. "And when I go to ship out my next deliever you can come with me." This seemed to be in the best interest for the both of them. Akasha got help packing up her goods, and Madena would have a safe place to stay for a bit; with potential to get paid on the side.

Akasha asked if she was going anywhere, and Madena only shook her head in response. "I don't know this place at all. I just wanted to explore." she said innocently. She had no plan about staying somewhere, she figured she could camp out in the wilderness like back home. Not once was she prepared for all of this...

With both of them clothed once more Madena could relax. Akasha asked for her name and Madena blinked. "Oh, yes! I'm Madena. And no, I don't have much of a plan at the moment." she answered somewhat shyly. She understood just how bad it looked. A stranger in this land not having any clue as to where to go or what to do. She was just curious...and now that curiosity landed her here.

Madena looked up with starry eyes as Akasha offered her a place to stay. "Really?!" she said a bit louder than intended. She gave a quick nod. "That'll be very much appreciated! Thanks!" she said happily and pulled the girl into a hug, very grateful for the help being offered to her. She released the girl and looked her in the eye. "So where do you stay?" she asked.

Madena seemed very much oblivious to what she was doing. So she was just on a sight seeing tour? Well she was in for a disappointment, there wasn't much to see in Cathwa, and exploring wasn't exactly safe either. Now that she had a name, and confirmation that the woman didn't really have any idea of what she was doing, Akasha felt better about inviting the girl to stay with her.
"Well Madena, it's nice to meet you." Akasha said, though she hadn't expected to be wrapped up in a hug by the woman out of the blue, though it made Akasha smile to know she had helped someone to such an extent. "My home is right up the street from here." Akasha explained, pointing up the road to a small clay building just a little bit up the way. "It'll be a little cramped, but it should accommodate us both." Akasha stated, as she would show Madena to the house in question and invite her in. It was a rather barren house. Most of the building was taken up by glass art and vases that Akasha had spent weeks working on, so rather than there being space, it was more accurate to say there were paths to navigate around the glass works. "Like it said, it's a little cramped, but once I start selling these off it should free up a tad." She said, carefully navigating around her glass goods and trying to show Madena to the bed chambers. Though just like the last room, there wasn't much to see. Akasha only had a bedrack and perhaps three small but impressive glass figures displayed on a small shelf near the bed. There was a ruby colored dragon, a winged snake, and some sort of sea creature, but one could assume she had a reason for putting these peices away from the others. "And this is the bed chamber. I have a room I use for my glass making just outside, but it might be a little too hot for your liking. So you can stay in here for the time being." Akasha spoke, knowing that her house left much to be desired for, though it was far better than Madena was going to get rather than sleeping off the streets.

Akasha pointed out her home and warned the Serpent that it was a little cramped. Madena smiled warmly. "That's fine, I don't mind cramped spaces." she said and followed after Akasha. Not that she lived in a tiny home, her home was an entire fort...but she spent more time inside all the nooks and crannies than outside. If it was too cramped, she could always shrink down to free up some space. Maybe even ride on Akasha's shoulder!

They entered her home and Madena had to blink a few times. Never before had she seen items like these. Vases with beautiful patterns. Figurines made of glass, sculptures...she was floored. "Wait...did you make all of these?" she asked in a somewhat shocked voice. Akasha moved on to show her the bedroom, but Madena was too caught up with the glass wares to care about that now. Finally she followed and arrived in the bedroom...where a winged snake caught her attention immediately. She walked over to the shelf and stared starry-eyed at the figurine. She only listened to Akasha when she heard the word 'hot', then finally looked up with wide eyes. "Pardon? Oh...OH! On the contrary! I love heat. Anything short of direct fire is heaven to me. I keep a big fire going back home at night to help me sleep." she explained happily. She almost wanted to ask if she could stay there rather than this room. This room also didn't exactly feel like a spare room...

"You don't...you don't think I could...stay there rather?" she asked a bit nervously, afraid that she was sounding rude. "I mean...there's nothing wrong with this room, the figures are lovely as well...I just...liketheheat." she rambled, but trailed off to an embarrassed mumble as a light pink hue shone through the scales of her cheeks.

Hearing that Madena was fine with tight spaces certainly made Akasha feel at ease. She was aware that her glass wares were starting to pile up, but when she got to work sometimes she forgot just how little room she had to store them all. She really should consider organizing her work at some point, but that was thought for later. Akasha smirked as Madena asked about the origin of the art pieces. "Yes, sorta. Consider them experiments. I tried to stretch out from just making vases. What do you think?" She asked, curious about getting some criticism on her work. It was nice to see someone else appreciate her work, especially when she rarely got to see what people truly thought of it. Though Madena seemed attracted to the figure of the snake.

Akasha was a little surprised that Madena seemed to want the glass smelting room, given it was smaller and quite a bit warmer, but Madena really seemed interested in it. Akasha chuckled and shrugged. "That's fine, usually I'm the one who doesn't mind the heat. But, you can have that room if you wish, though I'll have to set it for you." Akasha stated, moving to a small basked under the bed rack and retrieving a pair of sheets. "You don't have any materials you find intolerable do you?" Akasha asked, turning her head back to the blushing reptilian woman. The sight brought a mischievous grin to Akasha's features. "You know you blush fairly easily?" She asked, taking a set of sheets out of the basket and setting them on her bed rack. "I guess I should have assumed you like the heat. You were a little touchy on the way over here." Akasha chuckled, taking a seat on her bed beside the stack of sheets. "Not that I mind, I'm sure you were just curious." Akasha said, crossing her legs as she watched Madena. "I'll go get your room set up in a moment, but did you have anything else you needed?"

She agreed to give the toasty room to Madena who smiled happily, though her question was odd. "Intolerable? No, I don't think so...what do you mean?" she asked wit ha small frown of confusion. She wasn't sure at all what Akasha meant by that.

She then decided to be cruel to the poor Serpent. She mentioned her easy blush which made Madena look down as her blush deepened slightly. "I..." she stammered. She then went on to torture the poor girl by mentioning her getting a bit...comfortable...with her. "Well, it's not my fault..." she groaned as she folded her arms and turned her gaze away. Akasha's last comment was the cherry on top. Her blush was shining brightly and the snakes on her head curled around to close her face off to hide her embarrassment as she squirmed. Curious wasn't exactly the right word, more attracted than curious. But she couldn't admit that for the life of her, not that she needed.

Akasha asked if she needed anything else and the snakes parted slightly to let her look at the woman. "Less blushing cheeks would be nice." she said softly and shyly, very self-conscious now over her glowing cheeks.

"Oh, well some individuals with scales, I assume that's what you have? Well, some materials don't react well with their scales. From what I've been told." Akasha said, recalling about how certain cloths provoked itching or discomfort for some. "But, if you don't know what I mean, then you should be fine." She reasoned, watching the fidgeting serpentine woman with some amusement, though she hoped the woman was taking offense. A small bit of Akasha felt guilt over the teasing, so she followed up with an apology. "I'm only teasing you Madena. It's just rather endearing to watch, I'm sorry if I'm causing you any discomfort." Akasha said, rising from the bed and moving towards the shelf, though Madena would notice that there was an aura of heat radiating from the woman, though Akasha hadn't intended that.

"Well, I can't help with the blushing issue." She muttered, "Unless...well maybe I can...." Akasha was curious about something, she could affect her own body temperature, could she do the same for someone else? "Mind if I try something? It might help." If allowed, she would put her hand to Madena's cheek and attempt to pull away the excess heat that was causing Madena so much embarrassment. Though Madena might have felt her face stop burning, she would still feel the warmth of Akasha's touch upon her face. In the end, it was probably a futile gesture, but Akasha was at least curious as to what she could do with her magic.

Akasha apologised for teasing Madena which just made her feel worse. And it wasn't helping her poor cheeks. "No-no, it's...it's fine...it..oh dear." she stammered but drooped her head again in defeat. She was truly hopeless in these situations.

She explained that she might be able to help the blush which made Madena look up in confusion. Akasha asked for permission and Madena gave a nod in response. She laid a hand on her scaly cheak and Madena was getting very conflicted feelings. On the one hand she could feel her cheek cooling off...but on the other end Akasha's warmth was higher than a normal person's. She hummed as she closed her eyes and rested her head in Akasha's hand. The warmth of her hand calming her immensely. She got so enthralled by it that she laid a hand over Akasha's to savour the warmth.

Finally she opened her eyes again and realised what she was doing, quickly letting go of her hand and straightening out. "I-I'm sorry!" she blurted out. "Your hand. It's so warm and...I'm sorry." she stammered out and looked down in embarrassment.

She really needed to learn how to work with people...
