The older drake seemed amused by his partner’s words, slowly picking up the object of their barging and examining it before placing it down once again.

“How very interesting that this gem is what you would choose” he spoke without elaborating though the arching purple light seemed to intensify as he did so.

“For something such as this, I suppose it would be fair to say a gem for a gem in the name of relations“ the room shook slightly as he twisted about and picked up a red orb of crystal, “I seem to be missing one of these from my collection and none of my kobolds seem to know where it is…Which of course is very embarrassing from them and they would love your help to retrieve it.”

Tia noticed the kobold in galads grip slacken at that, though whether it was from shame or fear he could not tell.

“If you were to retrieve it and deal with the situation I would be willing to offer you that gem. As well as something you both may find quite interesting”

Valaxor’s eyes flickered to him as he said that, his smirk growing all the wider as he found himself standing protectively to his partners left.

“Of course, I could give you it in exchange for a… let’s call it an internship position”

He glanced back and forth at that, they could run…but he had a feeling that would end poorly,
giving a small nod to his partner he spoke out.

“This Gem…where would we start?” he spoke slow and hesitant

“Well, I suppose the one in your clutches may be able to point that out..anything else? Well that is part of your test”

Test…test….he felt himself gulp as he recalled the contents of the book still in his clutches. He had a feeling that this had gotten a whole lot harder..

Galad was stationary watching Valaxor closely, a bargain he says. Now there was an intriguing proposition he thought, an excuse for an adventure and the opportunity to forge a story of his own making but Tai seemed uneasy with that in mind he spoke out.

"I value my freedom, so an internship is out of the question I am afraid. Your other request intrigues me however, what is it you desire?"

Valaxor looked down at Galad thoughtfully, "I see. A band of thieves have stolen something of value to me, a pulsating amethyst. I wish you to slay those responsible and return it to me in exchange for this treasure."

Valaxor went silent giving Galad time to think on his offer, it would certainly give them cause to leave without hostilities and right now his chief concern was such and they didn't necessarily need to fulfil his request or ever return.

"Do we have a deal Galad?" Valaxor pressed cocking his head to one side.

"We have a deal," Galad replied and immediately prepared to retreat but his body refused and the young drake hissed in pain a burning sensation snaking around his talons and feet. A few moments later he collapsed to the ground weakly black chains coiled around his legs. "Wha- What is this?" He asked

"Collateral, no contract can be forged without one youngling. If indeed you value your freedom I would ensure you fulfil your side of the bargain in good stead." Valaxor replied waving a hand dismissively. "You creature," He turned now to the lizard, "will be my eyes and ears in this matter."

He felt his fangs bare as galas pain radiates across his senses, as purple light seeped across his form and formed into shackles around his legs before the same light *pierced* the lizards eyes and seeped into its flesh.

The creatures cries and whimpers cut of as quickly as they came however, leaving the creature nodding rapidly in fear and *worship* to some unseen voice.

Time seemed to pass quickly after that, as they were led from the dragon’s rest, past crystalline structures and building he could not make sense of, of more and more lizards, staring at them in various degrees of emotions, and then every now and again that odd purple light would be there, pulsing out of the eyes of yet another.

Despite his appetite for the minerals of the place he kept glancing down at his partners legs to the chains around them and the hate that seemed to bubble up inside him at the sight.

When they finally reached their destination, an opening in the mountain, moonlight was already drifting downwards and illuminating the area in a white glow.

It also revealed their ‘destination’ a series of buildings into eh distance, surrounded by what looked light fortified walls and black smoke billowing into the air... but even his senses were unable to make much else out from here.

~we will get you out of those chains~ he sent across their link before taking the first step onwards, he dearly wished this would be a simple matter but something told him that it was unlikely to be quick nor easy.

Struggling to overcome the feeling of exhaustion Galad forced himself back onto all fours, leaning against a section of the cave. He could not believe how foolish he had been trying to outsmart Valaxor and now his claws were being forced.

He considered retreating, returning home and hoping father would be welcoming. This seemed like something he would know about, perhaps a way of lifting whatever curse the drake had bestowed upon him. That would be no better than an admission of defeat and worse reliant upon another for protection.

No, he couldn't do that. He left in part to seek his own independence and now that was threatened he could not simply run away tail between his legs. ~Perhaps I should have tried to rip his throat out instead.~ Galad growled both in anger and frustration, eying the moon basking in its light. ~Let's just get this over with.~ He sighed finally
