Pouring rain was the worst part of deciding to travel to and through the Lantheri Wilds. It has been nothing but rain even high up in the mountains. The man was down in the forest below collecting different herbal plants but the rain bombarding him got pretty annoying. So he decided to go up the mountains near the patch of forest he was collecting at. Getting up the mountain was fairly easy at first but as he got higher up the climb began to become more difficult. The rain made rocks hard to walk across or climb. If he didn't have good enough set of claws at the tips of his mutated fingers he may have tumbled down the mountain side a number of times.

Some time ago he had spotted a large cave he can use to shelter from the rain until it passes or he is warm enough to venture back down to the forest below. The magi was at the last bit of getting to the tavern. Which was climbing the cliff face to the cave. The man had failed to notice that it is a dragon lair. If he did know he probably didn't care because he wants to get out of the rain or Iskar thought there is a chance it is not in use right now. The magi had decided to travel to the Lantheri Wilds to gather some herbs that grows in the region to make the plants into potions. That was only part of his reasons for traveling to the dangerous province. The second reason was due to recent events. Because of the Myst Surge a couple weeks back he knows that it is somehow affecting him because of his mutation. He had been unusually aggressive to the point that Iskar decided to get as much space between him and other people or beings until he gets the new characteristics he seems to be developing under control. The Magi could have barricaded himself in his home and the Gemiralth Isles but the man thought that traveling is the better of the two options.

His clawed fingers reached the edge of the cavern ledge, gripping the slippery rock ledge as best as he could. Groaning the man hoisted himself up onto the ledge. For a second or two he laid there on his belly trying to catch his breath. When he had rested enough Iskar got up and walked into the cavern. Instinctively he looked around half expecting something or someone to jump out at him as he got deeper into the massive cavern. When the magi felt he was deep enough in the man stopped. Putting his travel pack down next to the cavern wall the man sat down and started digging out his fire kit. But when he found that his kit was soaking wet the man sighed in frustration as he dropped the kit onto the cavern floor. With how heavy the rain is there was nothing he could have gathered to make a fire either. Taking a seat on the cavern floor the Magi planned to head down to the forest to collect firewood when the rain lightens up.

Galad had taken up residence in the cave some few days ago, it wasn't the best but remained one of the few uninhabited caverns that could comfortably accommodate his size and still be high enough to give a reasonable view of what little territory he could claim to hunt while still remaining concealment enough to avoid detection from beasts stalking below.

His journey from one continent to the other and back again had taken its toll and repaid little in kind. He met Navi to whom he owed a debt for helping tend to his wounds but insomnia plagued his ever waking moment. Galad was above all else tired, and the rolling thunder of clouds and downpour of rain so far at least proved a welcoming lullaby from the death that haunted him. If dragons didn't face extinction before they certainly did now, and he knew the worst was yet to come.

An ancient evil he was all to familiar with had broken free of its chains and reared its head towards the moon. He could see it as vividly as the stars or Tai that kept him company, the sinking feeling woke the young drake violet narrow slits piercing the darkness to the foreign presence of another.

Great company... Galadaeros groaned mentally pulling up his heavy head and tasting the air. The humidity helped mask the taste, had he not been so familiar with humans it may have escaped him but an undertone left Galad both concerned and confused. There was a hint of brimstone there, something that he more often associated with dragons, his first thought was perhaps a slayer had come. Either a very stupid or inexperienced one given the lack of any serious equipment, and the fact the human had missed the fact he was treading on claw scratched earth.

Still he observed watching in bewilderment as the creature tried, and evidently failed in creating a flame. Withholding a bemused chuckle in his throat he uncoiled himself from the bed of dried leaves and moses he'd gathered days before. His energy was still low from the sleepless nights and travelling but he couldn't yet risk showing that weakness, he didn't completely buy into the wisdom of his elders. In fact, he had more troublesome dealings with his own kind than mortals of late but he couldn't completely let his guard down.

Feeling his muscles relax into a more suitable position he inhaled again before sighing lightly. If the creature hadn't noticed him before he doubted it was so oblivious to his presence now. On the wing he was as quite as an owl, in a cave not much.

"The trespasser would do well to explain its purpose here, before my sense of self preservation gets the better of me." Galad said not as a threat but cautionary concern. He wasn't so naïve to assume this human was like the others, particularly in his weakened state.

Iskar was so exhausted from the combination of the cold breeze, the rain and the climb that the Magi had failed to put any thought into exploring the cavern to make sure it was empty of anything that could be lurking. Including the dragon that occupied the same source of shelter. If his senses were heightened he would have been able to pick up on the same brimstone scent that Galadaeros was picking up from the man. Perhaps then he would have known that the dragon is there with him. But his senses were not in anyway heightened so the man didn't know.

Despite how exhausted Iskar is the man did quickly jump to his feet when the dragon addressed him. The Magi politely bowed at the waist to show the dragon respect, "I am terribly sorry.. I was climbing the mountain side with the hope the higher I went that the rain would be below me. But as it didn't seem to be that way I saw this cave and decided to climb my way to it to seek shelter. I had no idea that you are in here.. I am terribly sorry for trespassing. If you wish I will find a place to shelter elsewhere." He quickly explained to the dragon as he straightened himself.

As the human bowed he made a feint growl taking a cautious step back withdrawing deeper into the shadows, holding tension in his hind legs he prepared to pounce should the human try anything. Being so lightly armed didn't do much to assure him of the danger this threat posed, he knew well enough the dangers of the Wilds to know mortals didn't often come so lightly equipped. He was raised here after all.

Raised by Palanrandusk, and knew better than to ignite the powder keg that could see his concerns come to fruition. So he listened waiting a moment after the human finished, the mans posture had straightened by the time he finished. He glanced again at the beginnings of a fire pit then to the roof of his lair.

"That is quite the feat for a mortal, to climb so high as to try and bypass the clouds whether you succeeded or not. Brave to in a place so interwoven with the Mysts as this, and come so lightly armed" He replied surprised, "No. I would not have you tread hostile ground, not while you may prove useful. You are welcome to stay, providing you kindly refrain from collapsing the cave. If it is light you need..."

Galad unfurled his wing slightly allowing the slowly orbiting nebula of light to cast the cave in a dim purple glow, "Tell me, what do I call you trespasser?" Galad asked putting one claw forward and sinking into a resting position still keeping some distance between them.

Iskar swallowed silently as he listened to the dragon. He should have stopped at some point to get a new sword to replace the one he had lost during the flood. But the man wasn't sure if he can handle being around other people at this time. And it isn't like is is one hundred percent disarmed since he still has the ability to use magic. The magi couldn't help but gawk a little bit when Galad lit the cavern in a soft purple glow with a single sight flap of a wing. He can't come anywhere near achieving the same thing while in any of his dragon forms. The man looked back to the dragon, "Thank you for lighting this cave. My name is Iskar Cinderflame. I hail from Gemiralth Isles. I should have stopped during my travels to arm myself better but after recent events I decided to keep going with my travels.." he told the dragon, "You can say my eagerness to travel and continue learning about the provinces and those that inhabit them got the better of me." He told the dragon.

The man was going to say more but then paused for a second as he back tracked mentally to what the dragon was saying moments ago, "How do you plan to have me be of use to you?" The magi asked curiously. Iskar was not sure of how much longer he can be around the dragon as for some odd reason being around Galad was making the magi feel strange. As though the recent Myst surge and being around the dragon is having affects on his mutation.

Galad recoiled slightly with a growl at the mention of the recent Myst cataclysm, recalling what had transpired at the meeting of scales. The loss of his sister and many others, how desperately and pointlessly strived to avert a coming crisis he had no hopes of preventing, shaking his head slightly, he returned his focus to the present. The stranger in his domain.

"Iskar Cinderflame." He repeated, issuing the name to memory, "It's true the Mysts are dangerous, and they have done more than make sleep difficult, but it remains a part of me. That is, where you are helpful, a conversation may provide an adequate distraction. I myself was adopted and raised here."

Galad turned a suspicious eye back to Iskar's equipment, while he claimed to be a travelling scholar he couldn't simply trust his word. Perhaps he was a scout from the Empire, or some other foreign power, wanting to leverage recent events to their advantage but would that matter? Valaxor was close.

"That is intriguing. It was my own desire to learn about the world through the stories of mortals like yourself, you are a traveller then?" He asked, "I cannot say to know much about these Gemiralth Isles, are they part of the Empire?"

The mortal had piqued his interest at least providing a suitable distraction from the chaos unfolding outside.

The process of emerging from his inner world was almost like emerging from a cocoon, your senses expanding was almost euphoric as those blinded senses awoke once more.

New sounds, new smells, new…company?

His recent exposure to such large quantities of myst had left more than a few side effects on him that he was trying to sort out, while not all were negative they were ones that still required a large amount of time where he would have to seclude himself in order to adapt before they spiralled out of control.

Still he had not expected that he had withdrawn enough not to notice an Intrusion such as this.
Still, it looked like the interaction was tilting towards a positive resolution, meaning he shouldn’t have to worry about much. Still that didn’t mean he couldn't help the situation along in his own way.

Turning his attention towards the back of the cave he located a spot that was far enough away that the newcomers' senses would be unable to locate before forming his body from the surrounding materials before covering it in a thin layer of golden light, both to make his presence more noticeable and well…he did like to show off.

He took a moment to test his limbs out before prancing forward towards the two, his claws clicking happily against the stone with every step.

“Oh?” he spoke out as he drifted into line to Galad’s right, brushing against his scales in greeting before turning his attention towards the mortal.

“We have company? Brother dearest why did you not tell me about our guest? I would have gotten out the good silverware” he nodded excitedly before taking another step forward “Hello there! Wait… your all wet? ” he gave a low groan “Is it Raining Again

Pouting he turned in the direction of the entrance. “Where is the sun? the fun? The birds singing in joy towards the wind's requiem? ”
“What was I saying again?”
he blinked refocusing his attention on the newcomer “Oh yes, im Tai, Please sit and get yourself dry before you catch a cold, can't be to careful when it comes to rain” he chirped before sitting on his hunches and staring at the newcomer with a pleased expression.

Iskar nodded in response to Galadaeros's first question, "Yes. I am a traveller." The magi immediately followed the Dragon's next question with a shake of his head, "No. The Gemiralth Isles are not affiliated with the Empire in anyway." He replied before his attention was drawn towards another dragon that appeared.

Just how many dragons are there in this cave?

He raised a hand in a small wave, "Hello. Yes it is raining again." While the other dragon was cautious this new dragon was by far friendlier, at least he came across as being the friendlier out of the two so far. The man shook his head to shake off the rain water that was dripping from his hair as he listened to the dragon go off on a small rant about the weather before focusing on the magi again, "Thank you for your hospitality. I greatly appreciate it." His words were aimed to both of the dragons as he took a seat on a large rock.

Iskar looked between the two dragons, "So the two of you are brothers then?" He asked curiously to try to strike up a conversation that won't cause them to roast him.

"That is good, I have no love for murders and thieves." Galad growled pointing his snout to Tai as he pounced onto the scene, a deep grumble rising from his throat.

He listened closely frowning, "I did not invite this creature into the cave, he found it. As for you Tai I would not be so hasty to discount the rain that is hiding our scent. Do not forget where we are Tai."

"Brothers?"
Galadaeros chuckled, "Although we share the same sire, we do not belong to the same nest. I found him nearly two decades ago, we have been... insperable since." He says arcing his neck to glance lovingly to the stone in his chest keeping one flourscent eye on the cave entrance. He was not immune to avarice, that disease that afflicted many of his kind.

Slumping down with a thud he turned his attention back to Iskar, "He is not one I ever hope to part with, a good travelling companion particularly in hostile territories. It's surprising that you are here alone, did others get lost in the forests below?"

A chuffing sound echoed out in response to the other dragons grumblings “And I’m allowed to complain! I’m the one who gets to spend time out there in that mishmash of refracting nonsense to refill our supplies, It’s not even the good stuff, everything here is just so bland!” he finished with a pout before shaking himself in a full body shudder, body twisting around until he found a more comfortable position between the two sapient beings and laid his head on his frontal paws.

“He means he picked me up like a stray and he hasn’t been able to get rid of me since” he mock whispered towards the human as his moon's description of their relationship unfolded , his features breaking out in a fanged chuckle “Someone has to keep the mood up”.

He opened his mouth to force to conversation onwards once more before snapping it closed as his moon directed it along his own path, it would be interesting to see what story the other would tell after all.

Iskar had to force himself not to laugh. Laughing at a dragon, even as these two had a small banter back and forth, is not a good idea. Even with the one being cheerful it can change with a blink of an eye if he took offense to Iskar laughing. So the man brought a hand up to his face, as if it hide a yawn, to cover the smile to stop himself from laughing.

Taking a deep breath the Magi looked back to the two dragons. But then couldn't stop himself from laughing at Taiyangjing's sarcastic remark. Hopefully he won't get roasted for laughing. He seriously couldn't hold it in this time.

"I am so sorry. I didn't mean to start laughing. I couldn't keep it in after what your brother said." He explained as he wiped a tear away from one of his eyes. He then looked to Galadaeros and answered him honestly, "I didn't have any travel companions with me when I came here. I feel that it is sometimes best that I travel alone for obvious reasons. Not everyone responds to this," He showed the dragon his mutated arm, "Without being hostile. It is rare for me to come across another without being treated like I am a freak. Can't really complain that much at all really. The scales do offer some protection from some attacks." He noted as the Magi covered his arm back up. Clearing his throat the man couldn't help but glance to the cave entrance when thunder crashed through the air enough to cause the ground to shake. He may be here for a while. Possibly all night long.

"The Devil!" Galadaeros winced, Tai's words of abandonment coupled with laughter cutting deep. That was not at all what he meant, "Forgive me, Tai. On the contrary, I think your the best thing to have happened to me. It's only this mountains history that is enough to sour any soul. Now that said, I must disagree on the quality of food. I think the pies of Cathwa have spoiled you."

Of course, he neglected to mention his diet of late consisted primarily of lamb. "I suppose we could hunt some camels in Cathwa, but they are too lame. Furthermore, I am told they are possessions of humans, although I fail to understand humans can proclaim ownership of food and leave them to waste away in empty dunes." He looked then to Iskar as if he could provide an adequate explanation.

Instead, he was presented with another mystery. Upon seeing the arm, Galadaeros tasted the air growling softly as though tasted a rival. Galadaeros allowed the 'human' Iskar to finish, although now he was not so sure about his guests' nature.

"That we have in common." He sighed, "I'm the only one of my clutch to be born with this curse." He gently unfurled a wing revealing the strange animated celestial patterns beneath. "It can be difficult... most of my kin either fear or resent me so I can appreciate the struggle. Ironically, that same kin has proclaimed your kind to be dangerous and hostile but none so far have fulfilled that stereotype.

Iskar, how did you come to acquire that arm. Was it by birth similar to my blight or resulting from exposure to the Mysts?"

He gave a look towards his companion, he gave an audible sigh, then proceeded to boop him on the nose for being so silly.

“Silly dragon” he muttered softly giving him a quick nuzzle “Your mine and I am yours, remember?” he whispered before flipping back to the newcomer

“You see what I have to work with?” threw up an arm to cover his face dramatically “Mr mood…ooooh are those scales?!, I didn’t know humans could grow scales!” his head flipped around once more “Did you they could grow scales! Now all we need to do is figure out how to get them to grow a tail and they maybe they can have a proper sense of balance” he jumped up, moving closer to inspect the ‘human’ taking longer then normal to inspect its back to see if there was any sign of a tail, pouting when there seemed to be none.

Well I suppose one step at a time, you can’t be as amazing as my dear brother after all” he said flipping backwards one with a snarky comment “And who was it that ait 5 pies in a row? I still say they needed more basalt!”
